Default Hero Skills

As it seems a lot of people are unaware of this (as I was till the end of the game), I thought I'd just put something up for it =/

The [Hero Skills] NPC is, what I think, to be Nightfall's equiv. of the Skill Rewards that was found in Tyria. Since the game requires you to get to Sunspear General, that is already some Hero Skill Points, and by the end of the game, you would no doubt have more from both Sunspear and Lightbringer title tracks.

These NPCs, teach you skills for 1 hero skill point which you get while you level those 2 titles up. Certain skills appear at certain parts of the game and so I'm just guessing this is what ANet came up with so you get to choose what kind of skills you get. Since people didn't like how they didn't have a choice in Tyria...didn't like how they had to spend money in Cantha...this was probably a good solution.

The NPC will show whatever skills that character doesn't have, regardless if it is unlocked or not, and if you choose to learn it, your character will receive that skill and it is not merely for your heroes or for unlocking.

At least...that's how I got Purge Signet on my monk...no way am I spending 1k for that =P But I saw it on the list and I ended up getting the physical skill on my PvE char so...yeah =P

Ah, didn't know that. Not as useless for a Prophesies/Factions/NF account as I thought. So when it says "hero," it means PC, rather than hero-hench then.

That's what I thought too at first but when I got to the end of the game, I bought all the skills, went to talk to the Hero Skills NPC and I saw Purge Signet on there even though I already have it balthazar faction unlocked so I just tried it and my monk got purge signet =/

Which was kinda annoying right after I spent like 10 buying all those skills =P
I thought the name was quite misleading as well as it doesn't tell you that you will get that skill itself in the description =/

yep - a nice way to save on skill costs for your character

its best to review the wiki "Hero Skill Trainer" list before you buy a skill
